Am I allowed to write a kind of a sequal to a play I do not own the rights to?

I was thinking about writing a play to preform at school called Seuss 2 except I am unsure whether because I don't own the rights to the play or the books, am I allowed to use them. I was thinking kind of a knock of Seuss, where it starts out with the song Oh the things you can think, except it is rudely interrupted The Cat in the Hat saying Shut UP! Then he talks about friends of his all to Jojo who is letting his imagination get the best of him. Can I write this play with out getting sued?
