Question about sculpting fondant...?

i found a recipe, i want to know it it could be made with out gelatin I its sculpting fondant by the way.? i found a great recipe, for sculpting fondant, though im just making like a 1/4 of the recipe, and i dont have gelatin. I was thinking that maybe I could replace it with cream or tartar? with the amount that In making (fondant), it would be Less than a 'teaspoon of gelatin. So; find it pretty useless to go and buy some. can just omit it or replace ir? thanks!!!
